Decisions Grown

We each make decisions
based on this obvious fact
that when each we die
we are simply dead,
so that the chance we own,
if ownership or chance exists,
is to make that of what we must,
of the stuff from our bed.
And from what small choices we may have,
or may give to others private life's, we share
both joyful turns of love and joyless stone
though often only through hard work and trust.
As creatures of each day we must reawake
to find self and selflessness,
remembering eternal truths,
as we have, and have yet to have grown.
