I have been writing about the Palestinian Israel situation because it became obvious to me that the news media within the United States was biased.  I am not particularly friendly to the the Palestinians, in fact the opposite.  The few Palestinians that I have known were backward people who were not friendly to me.  At the same time, I have a number of Jews as close friends and others as acquaintances.  But people are people.  There is no law in the United States that says that killing an Arab family is OK as long as you do not kill a Jew.  But there is in the West Bank.

What I do not understand is why the United States has continued to support a government that has turned as corrupt as Israel?  The BBC says that Americans are supporting Israel because we believe that the Jews are God's chosen people.  If this is true then maybe it is time that we Americans convert over to Buddhism.  What we are doing through our support is evil.  We have allowed ourselves to support an evil leader who has sent his army on a rampage of murder of innocents.  He flattened cities with tanks and bulldozers and he buried the people alive.  These people are still screaming to get out of their living graves.  No on can help because the Israeli military wait for them to die.

The Israeli soldier will go home to their family.  Some will say they did their duty.  Others will be sickened by what they have done or saw.  None will forget the smell and the screams.  The bodies will be dug out and they will be counted.  The number will be reported.  This story will come out.  It is possible that the leaders of Israel will be tried for war crimes. It is also possible that the United States will continue to ignore the atrocities that have taken place.  It is possible that the news that comes out will continue to be buried under headlines that hide the story being told.

I am ashamed at our country for it's foreign policy.  I am ashamed of our leaders for not taking a stand.  I am ashamed of our press who have not lived up to their ethical responsibilities as journalists.  I am ashamed of the American Jews who have not spoken out against Israel's actions.  I am ashamed at our Churches for embracing this evil.
