Terror Comes In All Forms

We have learned that terror comes in all forms. Today I saw a former member of the Israeli government speak on television and say that Israel is the most radical that it has ever been. There are thousands of Israeli's protesting their government's current Israeli Palestinian war. Meanwhile the United States Government has sent another General "Diplomat" to "negotiate" peace. Colin Powell took his sweet time doing anything because he is of course a General first and a Diplomat second. The objective of peace and saving a population of civilians is not quite up there with military objectives.

Meanwhile, all these weeks the Israeli military kept the press from documenting the disasters they were creating simply by shooting them down. While this was going on, the Israeli commanders even demanded that the Palestinian civilians bury the dead or stated that they would bury them in mass graves. Is this the real reason why they did not want their tanks to withdraw? Is it because the current Israeli regime did not want the publicity of all of the funerals? You have to read between the lines because the news reporters will not say so. They just let you draw your own conclusions. Today the reporters stated that Israeli's withheld food and water while they had their soldiers give out apples in the streets. Is this true? If so does anyone in their right mind actually think that after killing and arresting tens of thousands of their men, a few door to door apples will win back the hearts and minds of 16 year old aspiring martyrs? I don't think so.

Meanwhile our President has put on what was generally seen through the press to be a phony show of having ordered the withdrawal of Israeli tanks from Palestinian refugee towns. This even made Saturday Night Live this weekend. What else can he do to make a mess? How about his publicized reversal on scientific cloning. The contrast is astounding. It is amazing to me that the use of United States Apache gunships firing into densely populated cities does not bother our President as much as the potential cloning of a few dozen human cells for genetic cancer research. What church does he belong to? Perhaps we Americans should again start singing God Bless America, at every chance we get because we sure need God's blessing with this kind of thinking. Every man, woman and child shot in the streets and homes of the middle east should be worth at least one blood clot from a human egg and sperm.

One of the days both history and justice will catch up with the people in charge of all of these current events. Maybe even God will catch up with them too. What is hard for me to believe is that America and Israel do not have leaders in place with enough logic to understand all of this. It just goes to show that you should never underestimate the distance between governmental power and common sense. Maybe it takes so much capital of the human soul to get into positions of power that there is nothing left for human decency, understanding and pity. President Jimmy Carter, where are you?
