Why was the UN prevented from investigating?

Take a dozen gunships and fire their rockets and miniguns into the center of a refugee camp containing tens of thousands of people struggling to survive several days and nights. How many people would you expect would die? Add dozens of tanks firing cannon shells and machine guns and snipers shooting anyone on sight trying to get food and water. Next drive tanks and bulldozers through the streets taking out walls and sprinkle in squads of soldiers blowing down doors to homes as they go door to door searching homes. If you would expect that more than seven people might die then you would be wrong according to propaganda being put out. Why should anyone believe such an irrational report? If Arab military had done what the Israel military has done, it would be impossible to believe the impossible.
